I love looking at pictures of everyone's classrooms, so I just thought I'd share some of mine. It seems to me that I can't quite feel ready for the year until my room is completely finished.
I love my "Composer of the Month" bulletin board from Sara Bibee's TPT store. This is something I've seen all over Pinterest this past year and can't wait to try. I am really bad at finding time to teach music history in my classes, so I think this will be a good way to sneak some of that in.
Here is where I will be posting the "I Can" statements we are working on in each class for that day or week. I did this last year as well and it really helps me stay on track with my standards and where I need to be. The kids also like to know what they'll be doing for the week.
This is on the back of my piano. I have 2 kids (Jonah-3 and Everlee-1) and they both LOVE the "Dispicable Me" movies. So when I saw this on Pinterest I just had to do it!
My classroom is on the second floor and right next to the 5th grade classroom, the library, and the computer lab. Although all of my neighbors are very understanding, I often find that if I forget to shut my classroom door, someone shuts it for me! We get a bit noisy some days and I guess it can be a distraction! I thought this outside of my classroom door would be an appropriate board!!
Here is my back wall. I have my Choir Info board, my Music Notes board (which has a list of all of the standards each grade level will need to know), my Packers pennant from my trip to Lambeau Field this summer, and my "O Say Can You Sing" bulletin board for the 4th grade SSB unit I do each September.
I also purchased this this year. It's the "Singing FUNdamentals" toy kit. I am really excited to use all of these "toys" with my 5th and 6th grade choir. Isn't being a music teacher fun?!
Finally, I'm sure all of you teachers out there with kids can relate to this picture here. These are my two kids helping me get my room ready this summer! As you can see, they enjoyed the toy box, too!!
Have a great year, everyone!!
