Another year has started! I can't believe this is going to be my 5th year of teaching! I know how much I love looking at pictures of other people's classrooms, so I thought I'd post some pictures of my room this year.

It's hard to see, but my "Welcome" sign is made out of CD's (I get tons of free ones in the mail with music samples on them). And of course, I had to pay tribute to my wonderful college, NDSU! Go Bison! |
Our school is really focusing on Common Core and creating "I Can" statements. My goal this year is to post my "I Can" statements for each class at the beginning of the day/week. |

Our school finally got air conditioning this summer (yay!) and while they were replacing the old heaters, they also painted one wall in every classroom. As you can see, I got orange. It really brightens up the room. Below my bulletin board you can see my instrument and manipulative storage shelves. I'm trying to get everything labeled. |
Another new thing I've been wanting to try is a word wall. My plan is to have one music term each week that I teach every class. Then, we'll try to use it throughout the week. Any new vocab words we learn in class will also go up there. |
Merry Christmas to me!! I finally got up the nerve to ask my school to purchase flipForms for my room and I got them! I have only used them a little bit, but I think I'm going to LOVE having them instead of having kids sit in chairs and on the floor.

Well, that's all for now! Hope everyone has a great year!!
